As a mature age person, MIBT was the only way I could enter a university degree. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to attend MIBT. I cannot praise the lecturers/staff enough. Everyone is so helpful and will go out of their way to help the individual. The commitment and dedication is second to none. There is no reason for any student not to do well. The lecturers make each class so interesting. Because I have not attended a tertiary institution before, I feel MIBT has taught me how to study and given me the confidence to continue with my studies. I have three children in three other universities and they also agree from my comments that MIBT students are very well prepared and looked after.

I tried to get into Deakin University with my Year 12 results, but the results were not what I expected. I chose MIBT as it was a pathway to 2nd year at Deakin University. The class sizes are good, not too big or small, which made it easy to ask lecturers questions during class time.

MIBT is a renowned Institute in Bangladesh. Lots of students like to study at MIBT because of its great reputation. Their association with Deakin University is good for students who wish to study at Deakin. The staff are extremely friendly. When I first came to Melbourne I was very homesick and had no friends. I was given a lot of information about accommodation, which is important to overseas students. MIBT really looks after the welfare of its students.

The main reason I chose to study at MIBT was to save time. I could complete my Diploma in 8 months and then go direct to Year 2 at Deakin University. MIBT has taught me good study skills for university. I have made a lot of friends from studying in MIBT from all over the world. The class size is smaller than in university, so it gives you the opportunity to ask lecturers special questions.

Name: Cyrus Ho Kwan Ming Course Completed: Diploma of Commerce From: Hong Kong
After Cyrus completed his A Level in Hong Kong, he chose to study MIBT’s Cert IV and 8 months fast track Diploma course. He said, ‘I did not perform very well in my A level in Hong Kong and I wanted to try again overseas. At that time, some of my friends were already studying in Melbourne, therefore I chose Melbourne as my study destination. I heard about MIBT’s pathway during a Hong Kong exhibition, and I feel that.the fast track pathway offered at MIBT really suits me. Comparing between Hong Kong and study at MIBT, I prefer the study environment at MIBT in Australia. Small class size allows me to have chances to ask questions during class and more interaction with teacher and other students. The lecturers are also helpful and willing to support overseas students in many aspects. Besides during lectures, MIBT lectures offered me extra tuition. I feel that during my last few years of study in Australia, my English has improved quite a lot.” Cyrus achieved an average score of 70% in the first semester of Cert IV, and was allowed to jump to Diploma after 1 semester of Cert IV study. He then completed diploma within 8 months, and fast tracked into Deakin University Year 2. He is now a year 3 student at Deakin University and his majors are Accounting and Finance.

Name: Henry Chiu Sin Hang Course Studying: Diploma of Commerce From: Hong Kong
Henry joined the MIBT Diploma program after completion of HKALE in Hong Kong. His results could not get him entry into universities in HK, therefore he chose MIBT diploma which offers him an alternative pathway into Deakin University. He said, “I chose MIBT as I can join Uni level diploma directly without the need to undertake foundation year again and sit for the uni entrance exam. On completion of 8 months Diploma, I can gain entry into Deakin University year 2. I feel that it is not hard to get a 50% pass score in the Diploma of Commerce program. In addition, MIBT university lecturers are all very friendly, they offered me a lot of assistance and are happy to answer all my questions. I did not consider associate degrees in Hong Kong as I wish to learn to be independent by studying overseas, and to learn more English. In only few months time, I feel that I have big improvement in my English. I have a lot of chances to learn English here, especially listening and speaking.” Henry has confidence that he will be able to complete Diploma satisfactorily and continue with Deakin’s year 2 program. I heard that Deakin’s Accounting course is quite good and is in association with CPA, I wish that I can study Accounting and Economics at Deakin.

Name: Veronica Chiu Wing Kei Course Completed: Certificate in Mass Communication From: Hong Kong
I completed Form 5 before choosing MIBT Cert IV in Mass Communication, I really interested in communication, therefore I chose this subject. I selected MIBT because I wish to complete my certificate and diploma within the shortest time, and fast track into university year 2. I achieved HD results in the 1st semester of my cert IV studies and was allowed to skip the second semester of Cert IV and jump to Diploma level, this shorten my studies further by 4 months, allowing me to save quite a lot of time and money. If I continue my studies in HK, I would need to study Form 6, 7, and sit for another public exam HKALE, before I can join university. At MIBT, I can complete certificate and diploma units all in 1 year, fast track into year 2. In other words, I can basically finish my whole Australian degree within 3 years in Australia, which is excellent for me. I really like Melbourne, there are less entertainment and distraction here compared to HK and it is a really good environment for studying. I begin to learn to be more independent, especially after achieving HD results in my Certificate, my confidence has increased a lot. MIBT lecturers are very helpful to me, in my studies. I will definitely recommend the MIBT pathway to future prospective students.

Name: Hiroko Matsumoto Course Completed: Diploma of Commerce From: Japan
MIBT was a really good environment for me to study as there were many international students just like me which made it so much easier for me to make a lot of international and local friends.
As we all share a different culture, not only have I learnt from classes but also from my friends all over the world. I loved studying English since when I was living in Japan however, when I first came to MIBT I struggled as people talked much faster than I thought and I had a difficult time catching up.
However, in a couple of months I realized I could speak as fluently as the others and I was not using the electronic translator as much as I used to before. The teachers in MIBT are really nice and I don't feel intimidated whenever I had questions to ask. I am currently in my 2nd year studying sports management in Deakin University. I am glad I chose to study my first year at MIBT as it gave me a lot confidence and they supported me a lot. Not only did I appreciate the pathway from MIBT to Deakin but also the friends I met and the teachers in MIBT who motivated me and helped me lots of things.
I am really glad I came to Melbourne to study as this was always what I wanted and I am enjoying it right now!

Name: Jenny Liew Cheok Wai Course: Certificate IV and Bachelor of Commerce Country: Malaysia
I completed both the Certificate IV program and the Bachelor of Commerce in just 16 months. I was so glad I chose this option rather than the tradition pathway of high school or a foundation program…as that would have taken so much longer with no guarantee that I would get into university! I instantly enjoyed the environment of MIBT and also of Melbourne. I have learnt a lot here, not just educational but also personal. I have become more independent and have enjoyed learning about different cultures. It has been easy to make friends. I also received a lot of support from my lecturers and found it easy talking to the MIBT staff about any problems I experienced.

Name: Jovani Claude Kenny Nagloo Course Completed: Diploma of Commerce From: Mauritius
MIBT has helped me in preparing myself fully to get to second year university. The course outlines are actually very vast and thus good for students intending to follow on after their diploma. In regards to MIBT’s location it is perfect - as it is well located, not far from the city and most important the suburbs. Friends that I actually made are from all parts of the world, and I’ve learnt about cultures, values and most importantly I’ve experienced true friendship. Living in Melbourne is one of the most beautiful things that has happened to me. I am doing everything by myself (living, studying, cooking, working, partying) and I’m still able to cope with everything. I originally live on an Island, so life there is still slow, and on a developing way. Melbourne is big and there is a lot to explore. Life in Melbourne goes very quickly as in just one year my life has changed positively.

Hello, my name is Stanley. I have completed a Diploma of Commerce at MIBT and am currently studying the Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin University. I really recommend students to study at MIBT because it has a lot of positive aspects. I enjoyed the small class sizes as I could concentrate much more on my studies and received help when needed. The lecturers and staff really care and were very helpful in my study. I learnt new study techniques at MIBT which prepared me for study at university level. The course and curriculum is also similar so this had made it easier to adjust to university life.

Name: Chiu Hui-Yun (Candy) Course: Diploma of Mass Communication From: Thailand
My high school GPA was not as good as I predicted, even though I was trying very hard in the final year, this meant I was unable to get direct entry to university. Fortunately for me, an MIBT staff member came to my school and introduced the benefits of studying a Diploma at MIBT. I was advised that I could enter second year of university by completing a Diploma and that I could complete it in just eight months! This was good news for me as I wanted to graduate as soon as possible. I successfully completed the Diploma of Mass Communication and right now I am studying second year at Deakin University, majoring in the Bachelor of Arts, Journalism. I am so glad that I made that decision. For people who still wonder where they should go after graduating from high school, I strongly recommend MIBT.

Name: Vimbai Vivien Nenzou Course: Diploma of Mass Communication From: Zimbabwe
I decided to come to MIBT because I understand that as an Institute it is one of the best places in Australia to obtain a recognisable diploma which would set the standard for my entry into second year University. MIBT is smaller than most and because of that I felt that one would get to know a lot of the student body and the lecturers and form a good family bond combined with the good educational facilities provided.
At MIBT the standards of education are very high and the level of interaction between the staff and the students is exceptional. The staff and lecturers are very helpful, offering support whenever needed. I have been mostly impressed with the educational facilities, like the classrooms, IT facilities and the good education we as students receive from the lecturers. It is also very cheap compared to London and America and yet offers one of the best education systems in the world.
MIBT has prepared me for future study in that by obtaining my diploma I am all set to go straight into second year without any hassle. At MIBT the education schedule/timetable is set in a way that has enabled me to work very hard and excel in my studies.
Being at MIBT has changed my life and I am glad to say for the better. Life in Australia is exciting as it is both fast paces in other aspects yet laid back in others. Those wishing to come and study at MIBT my advice is, hurry up and come here because it is fun and for those who are hesitant I have only a few words to say “What are you waiting for?” MIBT is the place to be I recommend it.
