Many students travel to and from Australia at the beginning and end of each semester, therefore flights can be heavily booked in advance. It is advisable to make a flight booking as soon as you have confirmed your enrolment at MIBT.

Plan to arrive in Melbourne at least 14 days prior to Orientation and Enrolment to give yourself time to settle in, find permanent accommodation, open bank accounts and familiarise yourself with your new environment. This adjustment will be a major change to your normal routine and leaving your arrival to the last minute can create unnecessary difficulties.

Free Airport Reception

To assist you with your arrival in Melbourne, MIBT provides an airport reception service. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation free of charge on your first arrival. Additional family members may use this service but will be required to pay.

How to arrange to be met at the airport

If you would like to be met at the airport and taken to your accommodation you will need the following information:

• Date of birth
• Flight details: date arriving in Melbourne, time arriving, airline, flight number
• Accommodation details: the Melbourne address you are staying at

Complete the following steps:

STEP 1: Log on to: http://www.harlan.com.au/res_sys/mibt/index.php

             Enter your:   Username: MIBT Student ID: eg: ADFGF81

                               Password: your date of birth eg: 12/03/1985

STEP 2: Complete the booking form

STEP 3: Press “Book” to complete

You will receive an email from Harlan Personalised Transport to confirm your booking.  THIS IS YOUR OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION.

Need to make a change?

If you need to change your flight or accommodation details log back on using your username and password, then click on the “Edit Booking” button and change your details.

Arriving in Melbourne via an International Flight

STEP 1: When you clear customs, go through the sliding door into the International Arrivals Hall

STEP 2: Turn right and make your way to the Group Tours desk

STEP 3: You will be met by a MIBT representative (look for the MIBT sign)

STEP 4: You will be taken to your accommodation

What to do if the Driver has not found you

If the Driver has not found you within 30 minutes (after clearing Customs, for international flights) first check at the Information Desk or telephone (+613) 9244 5197 (MIBT) or the emergency contact listed in your confirmation for further assistance.
