Note: If you do not meet the English language requirements you may be eligible for a Mixed Program or the offer can be packaged with an ELICOS program at Deakin University English Language Institute (DUELI).
International students whose level of English language proficiency is IELTS 5.0 - with no band score below 4.5 (or equivalent) and who satisfy the minimum academic requirements, may be offered entry to the Mixed Program.
The duration of this program is three semesters (12 months). The first semester consists of AES200 Academic English Studies (15 hours per week) and one academic unit from the relevant Diploma course. The following two semesters consists of the remaining Diploma units. Advancement to the full academic program requires completion of AES200 Academic English Studies with a passing grade. On successful completion of the program students will be awarded the Diploma.
Academic Admission Requirements
Entry to Diploma courses requires the successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent.
Specific academic entry requirements are listed below. Students with qualifications that are not listed should forward their application and academic results to MIBT for assessment.
Note: Diploma of Engineering requires a pre-requisite subject of mathematics (year 12 or equivalent)
Mature Age
Mature age students (20 years of age and over) may be admitted to a course without meeting the formal academic requirements if they have relevant work experience and other acceptable qualifications.
